Rock Bottom Is Your Saving Grace

Often I hear people ask, “what more can go wrong?” “Can it get any worse?” Truthfully, no. There is no where else for you to go once you hit rock bottom. Once you hit the bottom you have the choice to stay there or move. What are you going to do?

You can’t rely on others to pick you up. You can’t bring others into your mess. Well, you can, but either their dummies or you are selfish. Just being honest. I was you once, and I was the latter. So, I am here to offer words of encouragement, and a few simple things that gave me the wakeup call I so desperately needed..

Firstly, I learned that nobody really has your back the way you do. Trusting people to be there when you need it is the last thing you ever want to expect from someone. The less you expect, the better off you are.

When you look in the mirror, you see your own reflection. Your personal reflection that you have to face everyday. If you aren’t happy looking in that mirror, then their needs to be some sort of change made in your life. Strengthen your mind, body, soul and spirit. Take the world by storm. Make it yours!

Secondly, when you have nothing left, you always have something left. Find it. Put your hand on your heart, feel it beat, and know that is “purpose” inside of you. We all have moments of weakness, and want to give up, you just have to find something to work towards. Make a small goal. Accomplish that. One foot in front of the other.

Lastly, surround yourself with people who are successful and positive. When I had friends that did nothing but complain, whine, get into trouble, and drugs I followed suit. It was the environment most comfortable to me. You have to surround yourself with gogetters to be a gogetter.

Life is what you make it. Easy as that.
